The newest cat prints to land in Deborah Julian's Famous Artists' Cats are After Lunch With Pierre Bonnard. The series of cat art creations is inspired by her imaging what might have happened if the famous artists she studied while getting her degree in art history had had her own curious cats.
Some of the famous artists, like Matisse and Picasso, loved their cats and included them in their artwork. Others, Van Gogh and Cézanne, for example, had no known history with cats in the studio, and Hopper probably didn't like cats any more than he liked people.
No problem. Great art inspires, regardless of the artists' personal life. Deborah Julian is equally inspired by cats. In After Lunch With Pierre Bonnard, she marries her passions and makes something wonderful, colorful and artistic from the results.
