Cat Art Prints, Inspired by Pierre Bonnard

Deborah Julian's cat art prints, inspired by the great French post-impressionist, stay to true to Pierre Bonnard's lifelong commitment to beauty in art.

In bathers, she uses the one of Bonnard's more abstract paintings as a model. In the original, there are figures, but each is cut off in a way that suggests a less substantial reality. One woman is already in the tub, her shapely legs beneath the water without any more of her visible. Another approaches, wearing a light blue robe that matches the tones of the bathtub. All we really see is a single slippered foot as it steps into the frame.

Inserting himself, completely without abstraction, on center stage, Deborah's popular cat model George has taken a seat on the floor and has begun to carefully groom - bathe - himself. The collective image makes a great, colorful collage.
